Senior Editor
Deana has a bachelor’s degree in English and a certificate in Technical Writing from CSU Long Beach. She began her editorial career in 1996 at the World Journal of Surgery while tucked into a file-cabinet-filled office at UCLA (when everything was still processed via hard copy and snail mail). With her skills in database development and medical terminology, she impressed the publishing industry enough to remotely take on additional journals. In 2013 Deana joined the Technica team as a Senior Editor, providing remote editorial support for several scholarly journals. She has a thorough understanding of peer review management systems such as Manuscript Central and Editorial Manager, and in her spare time assists in proofing medical and scientific book chapters. Deana has been married to her junior-high school sweetheart since 1998 and they have two teenage sons. When she’s not reading, writing, and editing she can be found walking her Samoyed, tending to her garden, and traveling with her family.
